Did I suffer?

 When someone dies, usually the question that comes up or discussed is "did they suffer". Everyone wants to know I won't suffer...but the truth is that I suffered a lot. For many months, I was told death from kidney disease is painless. It is somewhat true, relatively speaking. It's not the kind of suffering you get with burn victims or some cancers. But there was definitely plenty of suffering. I'll list the symptoms at the end, for anyone who wants specifics, but the bottom line is that the final month of my life, October 2022, was exceptionally miserable, and by November 1st I felt I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted to give my partners time to digest this decision, so I set the death to Nov 9th. This also gave me time to throw one more cuddle party. However, I regretted that decision that very night, due to the harshness of my symptoms, and decided to move it up to right after the party (nov 6). GOING VIRAL

I n another story, I talked about my love of cars, and the two supercars I own (a Lamborghini and a McLaren). My house, however, is quite modest; an old rambler built in the 60s, with only one garage, which I use for storage. As a result, my cars are parked in my front driveway, which is quite visible from the street, and people often stop-by to ask or comment about them. Last week, some neighbor of mine posted a picture of my driveway on Reddit, showing the two cars, and writing “Our neighbor has a McLaren and a Lamborghini s/he parks in the front yard.” To his surprise, and mine, that post went viral, receiving over 2800 comments. A big chunk of the comments were about the house, which isn’t very impressive, but still worth $900,000 according to Zillow due to the crazy real-estate market in my area. I DON’T LIKE WINNING

  There's something that I never understood about myself: seems that I don't like to win. Not that I don't enjoy being good at what I do, or scoring achievements. I do, quite a bit, but for some reason, I’ve never been competitive. As a result, I don't enjoy games. I have played stuff occasionally over the years, from sports through board games to computer games, but the only stuff I enjoyed were single player computer games, and even that has waned by age 16 or so. My ex-wife was a huge fan of games, and one of our main contentions over the years was her constant attempt to make me play with her. Once a year or so, I would capitulate (until 2016, when I finally got her to find some friends to play with instead of me), but I hated it and was just zombiying my way through the game, often times playing intentionally suboptimal to lose and get it over with.
